The client
A startup with a vision to improve road safety set out to analyze and track car drivers' behaviours using traffic video footage captured by other participants on the road.
To make the case to investors, they needed a proof of concept that demonstrated the technology working.
The challenge
The PoC had to accurately track and analyze specific driver behaviours using AI and machine learning — not just illustrate a concept.
It also had to be easily demonstrable to stakeholders, providing clear evidence of what the solution could do.
The approach
Acumen collaborated closely with the startup throughout the project, treating the PoC as a functioning product slice rather than a prototype sketch.
Both front-end and back-end components were built so the demonstration exercised a real processing path from footage upload through to visualized results.

AI and ML algorithms perform in-depth analysis of sample video footage, tracking and detecting predefined driver behaviours such as speeding and aggressive lane changes.
Licence plate identification
The platform identifies and tags licence plates of vehicles involved in traffic incidents, adding precision to behaviour analysis.
Driver classification
Algorithms classify drivers by specific traffic rule violations, including red light violations and improper lane changes.
UI portal
A user-friendly portal for uploading dashcam footage and viewing clear visualizations of the analyzed data.
